PRIVACY
What we collect on veril.studio, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have.
1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Veril Holdings LLC d/b/a Veril Studio (“Veril Studio”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit veril.studio, verilstudio.com and their subdomains (together, the “Site”), contact us, book a call or subscribe to our newsletter.
It does not cover Veril Core™ (core.veril.studio and client workspaces), which has its own Privacy Policy, or the apps and websites we build for our clients, which are covered by those clients’ own privacy notices. How we use cookies is explained in more detail in our Cookie Policy.
2. Information we collect
We only collect the information we need to run the Site and respond to you:
Contact form — your name, email address, the reason you’re reaching out and the message you write.
Newsletter — your email address, and whether you open or click our emails.
Discovery calls — when you book a call, Microsoft Bookings collects the name, email address and any details you enter so we can schedule and hold the meeting.
Emails and job applications — anything you choose to send us, such as your CV, portfolio or project details.
Usage data — with your consent, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the Site, such as pages viewed, links clicked, device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
Technical data — our hosting and security providers automatically receive your IP address, browser details and request logs so they can deliver the Site and protect it from abuse.
We do not ask for sensitive information, such as health or financial details, and we ask that you don’t send it to us.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
respond to your questions, prepare quotes and discuss potential projects;
schedule and hold discovery calls;
send our newsletter, if you subscribed;
review job applications;
understand how the Site is used and improve it;
keep the Site secure, prevent spam and abuse, and comply with our legal obligations.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases: your consent (newsletter and analytics), steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract (quotes, calls and project inquiries), our legitimate interests in running and securing our business and the Site, and compliance with the law.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted (cross-context behavioural) advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Site and our business, under contracts that limit how they can use it:
Webflow and Cloudflare — host the Site and receive contact form submissions.
Klaviyo — sends our newsletter.
Google (Google Analytics) — measures Site usage, only if you accept analytics cookies.
Microsoft — provides Outlook Bookings for discovery calls and our business email.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights, users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, in which case the information will remain protected by this policy or one at least as protective.
5. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Contact and quote inquiries are kept for up to two years after our last contact unless they turn into a project, in which case they are kept for the life of the engagement and as long as needed for our records. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Job applications are kept for up to one year. Analytics data is kept in Google Analytics only for the limited retention period set in our account.
6. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, including under the laws of Texas, California and other US states, the EEA and the UK, you may have the right to:
know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
correct information that is inaccurate;
delete your personal information;
object to or restrict how we use it, or withdraw consent you have given;
receive your information in a portable format; and
opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising or profiling — although we don’t do any of these.
To make a request, email contact@veril.studio. We will respond within the time the law requires, usually 30 to 45 days, and may need to verify your identity first. You may use an authorised agent, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our response, and you may also complain to your local data protection authority or state attorney general.
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email, and change your analytics choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a choice to reject analytics cookies.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
Veril Studio is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or our providers’ participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
9. Children
The Site is intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add a new tool or the law changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and if the changes are significant we will make that clear on the Site.
11. Contact us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, email us at contact@veril.studio or use our contact form. Veril Holdings LLC d/b/a Veril Studio is the business responsible for your personal information.
